Francisco Varela, 1984 Architect

Over the course of three years, I have progressed to a designing piece inspired by, the Skate. It is made from a seven plywood canadian maple and between layers some veneers are colored. When we look at an old and broken skateboard, we realize that the wear marks of this artifact have within them a story to tell.

The variety of patterns and textures found in each skateboard block serves as the foundation for addressing topics such as sustainability, zero waste and circular economy, the pillars of re.SK8.

I firmly believe that change can only occur in the consumer, which is why I am building a circular economy with partners who support and care for our future.

Through the re.use of old and broken skateboards, I change the narrative by giving a new life to these artifacts.
